“Benefits and safety of CEUS in pregnancy”
Learning objectives:
- Mechanism and bioeffects of ultrasound contrast agents
- Benefits and safety of CEUS for non-obstetric applications in pregnancy
- Benefits and risks of CEUS for assessment of placental perfusion
Short Biography
Prof. Massimo Mischi is full professor of Biomedical Signal Analysis and heads the Signal Processing Systems (SPS) group at the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Eindhoven University of Technology. Within SPS he leads the Biomedical Diagnostics (BM/d) Lab, with more than 150 researchers and several clinical and industrial advisors, working on biomedical signal analysis for application ranging from electrophysiology to diagnostic imaging. A leading expert in ultrasound perfusion measurements, he holds ERC StG, VIDI, ERC PoC, and EIC Transition grants. He has co-authored over 260 journal papers, 20 patents, one book, and 15 book chapters, and has given more than 90 invited talks at international conferences such as IEEE IUS, AIUM, EUROSON, and EAU. He chairs the WFUMB Safety Committee and has served on the EAU Imaging Section Board, as Chair of the IEEE EMBS Benelux Chapter, and as General Chair of IEEE MeMeA 2024. He is Associate Editor of five journals and sits on several IEEE technical program committees.
