WMC
World Medical Colours (WMC) has been active in Zanzibar Archipelago since several years, and the results obtained with the first courses have been published in the AJR journal in 2007 (doi: 10.2214/AJR.07.2202). The WMC ultrasound training program has grown over the years and since 2011 there is a signed agreement with the Ministry of Health.
WMC and WFUMB aim to collaborate on global projects including website content, research, training methods, sponsored mentoring and contributions in the WFUMB UMB and Open Access Journal.
Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound (SRU)
SRU endeavours to engage with other radiology organizations as the “go-to” society for ultrasound; to advocate for and support high-quality education and clinical practice; to act as ambassadors for national and international societies and organizations that may be involved in the education-appropriate use, regulation, and study of ultrasound.
SRU and WFUMB aim to collaborate on global projects including website content, research, training methods, sponsored mentoring and contributions in the WFUMB UMB and Open Access Journal.
American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM)

The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) creates opportunities for passionate medical professionals to improve their knowledge and use of ultrasound in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Through rigorous research, high-quality education, accreditation, and evidence-based training and practice resources, the AIUM is leading the global multidisciplinary ultrasound community.
AIUM and WFUMB share a commitment to advancing the field of medical ultrasound through education, innovation, and global engagement and have agreed to collaborate on planning, development, and delivery of up to three joint webinars on topics of mutual interest throughout 2026.
