- Specialty/Focus: His area of expertise is gastroenterology, specialized to pancreatobiliary diseases. Currently, his research focuses on development of novel technologies of endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and interventional EUS.
- Education/Training: He graduated Tottori University School of Medicine, got medical degree in Japan in 1990 and earned PhD in 1994. From 2000, He began to work at Kindai University, and studied in the field of pancreatobiliary diseases, particularly diagnosis and treatment with endoscopic ultrasound. In 2016, he became a chairman and professor of Second Department of Internal Medicine, Wakayama Medical University.

- Professional Philosophy on Ultrasound: Ultrasonography plays an indispensable role across a broad spectrum of medical fields, including health screening, pregnancy and childbirth, and the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and cancer. In recent years, as the enhancement of community healthcare has become an increasingly important challenge, ultrasonography has attracted growing attention as a valuable diagnostic modality because portable equipment enables rapid, point-of-care examinations. He continuously promotes his academic and educational activities to further advance ultrasound medicine, foster the next generation of healthcare professionals, and contributes to improving the health and well-being of the public.
