WFUMB FLAUS Webinar Series 2026
The WFUMB-FLAUS Webinar Series 2026 will feature six educational events delivered throughout the year, beginning in February and concluding in December. Chaired by Dr. Antonio Carlos Matteoni de Athayde and Dra. Edda Chaves, this series is designed to provide high-quality, up-to-date scientific content for the global ultrasound community. Each webinar will be presented in Spanish, with live English surtitles to ensure broad international accessibility. Following each event, recorded sessions will be made available in Spanish with English subtitles, allowing participants to engage with the content at their convenience and further extend the educational reach of the program.

    Dra. Ximena Wortsman

    Dr. Ximena Wortsman is a radiologist and internationally recognized pioneer in dermatologic ultrasound. She ranks first worldwide in publications and citations in this field and is among the world's Top 2% scientists according to the Stanford–Elsevier ranking. In recognition of her outstanding contributions, she was elected Fellow of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) and received the prestigious Joseph H. Holmes Clinical Ultrasound Pioneer Award in 2024, becoming the first Latin American to receive this distinction.

    For more than 26 years, Dr. Wortsman has dedicated her career to advancing dermatologic ultrasound through clinical practice, research, and education. She has authored more than 300 scientific publications, including three internationally recognized textbooks, and has published in leading medical journals such as The Lancet. Her scientific impact is reflected by an h-index of 51 in Google Scholar and 37 in Web of Science.

    Dr. Wortsman is based at the Institute for Diagnostic Imaging and Research of the Skin and Soft Tissues (IDIEP) in Santiago, Chile. She serves as Adjunct Professor at Universidad de Chile and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and as Voluntary Associate Professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She is a frequent invited speaker at major international congresses and has played a leading role in developing ultrasound guidelines, protocols, and scoring systems that are now used worldwide to improve the diagnosis, assessment, and management of dermatologic diseases.
