Professional Philosophy on Ultrasound: As a radiologist, Dr. Mar Perez Peña considers ultrasound an essential imaging technique because it is clean, safe, portable, inexpensive, and highly effective for bedside diagnosis. It is the only imaging modality that allows direct contact with the patient during the examination, combining imaging with real clinical assessment. Ultrasound-guided interventions solve many problems that other techniques cannot easily address. Recent technological advances (elastography, fat quantification, CEUS..), have made ultrasound an increasingly powerful diagnostic tool, with far fewer limitations compared with CT and MRI.
