WFUMB's Education Project provides funding for renowned ultrasound lecturers to speak at courses in developing and emerging regions of the world in cooperation with a local ultrasound society within that particular region. The end result is an increase in the level of ultrasound knowledge by both the local educators and the students. Ongoing education projects are held in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The African education project has held programs in Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Uganda and Tunisia. Asian education programs have been held in Bangladesh, the Philippines, China, Thailand, Mongolia, and Indonesia. The Latin American education project has held programs in Peru and Venezuela.
